estimated one in five veterans of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq suffers from traumatic brain injury, also known as
years ago Vermont received a $951,000 grant to help veterans
suffering from TBI find jobs. But to
date only a handful of vets have taken advantage of the program. The
reasons for this illustrate the challenges facing service providers and vets
with brain injuries.
When the President and
co-owner of the Jay Peak Ski resort announced last week a new economic plan for
the Northeast Kingdom, what really drew attention was the number of jobs he
said will be created if the initiative goes ahead.
Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom is expected to receive $500 million and 10,000 jobs through a
program that allows people from outside the United States to obtain U.S.
residency in exchange for investments.
