Every year, 3,000 Vermonters and 1.7 million people in the United States suffer a traumatic brain injury or TBI. These injuries can range from mild to severe TBI. An increase in these types of injuries to military veterans and athletes has resulted in additional interest and subsequently, more research and funding. It has also provided a better understanding of what the victims undergo.
At the same time, medical advancements have made it easier to detect and prove brain injuries. All of these factors have had an impact on what is admissible in legal cases involving TBI.
Attorney Robert Luce discusses how these developments have changed the legal community’s ability to represent the victims of brain injuries.
