Documenting racial profiling

Vermont is one
of only two states that don’t collect information on race during police traffic
stops.  We look into Uncommon Alliance, a community program
that’s working to identify and measure possible cases of racial profiling.

As part of that program, police officers in
four Chittenden county communities have been collecting data on race when they
make traffic stops for the past six months.  Our guests include Christine Longmore, one of the founding members of Uncommon Alliance, Trevor Whipple, the South Burlington Police Chief, and Robert Appel, the Executive Director of the Vermont Human Rights Commission. (Listen)

Also, we bring you a live performance from Vermont
based singer-songwriter Lisa Piccirillo.
She recently released her first album, Momentum. (Listen)
