Although the 2010 gubernatorial election is a year away,
four democratic candidates have already announced their intention to run.  We begin our series of
candidate interviews with Lamoille senator, and chair of Senate Appropriations,
Susan Bartlett.  We talk about her
solutions to some of the most pressing problems facing the state.

Also, Vermont
artist George Tooker has his paintings hanging in the most influential museums
in the country, and in 2007 President Bush presented him with the National
Medal of Arts.  This Sunday, the 89-year
old artist will make a rare public appearance at the Cornish
Colony Museum
in Windsor to sign a new book
highlighting his work.   VPR’s Nina Keck talks
with Tooker in his home in Hartland.

And, we listen back to some of the voices in this week’s news.
