“Shovel Ready” Transportation Projects

Nearly $131 million dollars in federal transportation
stimulus money is headed to Vermont,
and the state’s Agency of Transportation says it’s ready to spend more than
half of it.  Last week, the agency
released a list of 30 "shovel ready" projects that total close to $85
million.  The state must spend at least
$45 million within 120 days.  We talk
with Agency Secretary David Dill about how these initial projects were chosen,
and what guidelines and eligibility rules exist for future projects. (Listen)
