This week’s vote in Congress over a bill to increase the debt ceiling caused great debate and was very controversial. Vermont’s congressional delegation was divided over the legislation. Senator Patrick Leahy voted for the bill, while Senator Bernie Sanders and Congressman Peter Welch voted against it.
