It’s been an unusually competitive campaign season as statewide candidates vie for several open seats.  With election day nigh, we ask you reflect on the campaigns, the candidates and the issues.  Send your comments to vermontedition@vpr.net.

We also hear from John Odum, editor of the blog Green Mountain Daily and Rob Roper, former chairman of the Vermont Republican Party and host of the radio program True North.

Also, VPR’s Tim Johnson wonders what effect the plethora of campaign signs and waving candidates by the roadside have on our voting decisions.

And we talk with University of Vermont conservation biologist Joe Roman, who’s been studying how whale waste is a significant source of nutrients in ocean fisheries, giving new meaning to the slogan, "Save The Whales".
