Studies show that a majority of Americans are not well-prepared to handle their personal finances and make adequate plans for retirement. The newly created Financial Literacy Center hopes to change that. Annamaria Lusardi is Director of the Financial Literacy Center and Professor of Economics at Dartmouth. She’s also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
She spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about financial literacy for adults and why it’s so important to learn the basic skills to manage our money and understand the financial system.
