Analysis: Health Care Board Takes Steps To Control Costs

There was a lot of political news this week, as Vermont lawmakers worked to wrap up the session for the year.

But one significant piece of health care news had nothing to do with the legislature at all. With little fanfare, the Green Mountain Care Board announced this week that hospital budgets will be capped at 3.75 percent. Analyst Hamilton Davis says it’s the Board’s first significant step in controlling health care costs.
