Another Detective In Milton Allows For More Drug Investigations, Chief Says

Milton’s police chief says that the recent addition of a second detective to his force has allowed officers to deal with more drug investigations.

The chief briefed Milton’s Select Board last week, saying the town has one of the highest arrest counts in Chittenden County. He said the new detective has alleviated any strain on police to conduct interviews and follow complex criminal activities.

Milton’s Select Board says any other increases in staffing to the Police Department will most likely require an increase in personnel in other departments for supervisory work,  human resources, and finance.
