A Vermont summer camp is gearing up to celebrate 100 years of canoeing, hiking and getting boys out into nature.

Keewaydin Dunmore, sometimes known as Camp Keewaydin, opened its doors on Lake Dunmore in Salisbury in 1910. Keewaydin, a Native American term meaning the "spirit of the northwest wind," is believed to be the oldest continuously running boys tripping camp in the country.

On Wednesday, a canoe flotilla of more than 100 boats will take to the water and a special ceremony is planned to mark the centennial.
