(Host) The recent earthquake that battered northwestern China has touched the life of a Vermont woman.  Tonja Gilmore has journeyed to Tibet several times in the past two years, acting as a volunteer medical coordinator.

The 6.9 magnitude quake that struck April 13th devastated this region, killing many of the people Gilmore had befriended, and injuring the 6-year old girl she is planning to adopt.

Tonja Gilmore lives in Lunenberg; she speaks with VPR’s Neal Charnoff.
