Vermont will get a new Supreme Court justice in the coming year as Denise Johnson steps down. Those interested in filling the position are applying now to the Judicial Nominating Committee. The committee will screen the applicants and present their recommendations to Gov. Peter Shumlin, who must then choose from that list.
