At a select board meeting in Derby, approximately 50 people were present when the town’s ad hoc Wind Committee submitted their unanimous recommendation that the Select Board oppose the proposed Derby Wind Line project.

According to the recommendation, the committee noted that negative health impacts, the density of the surrounding population, a depreciation in property values, potential liability to the town, and "irreversible damages" to the unity of the town, all contributed to their negative review.

The Select Board stated that it would be premature to form an opinion on the project before gaining more information from the potential developer.
