Lieutenant Governor Brian Dubie and the manager of his campaign for governor have apologized to a renewable energy developer.

And the developer, David Blittersdorf, has dropped his libel lawsuit against Dubie.

Blittersdorf is founder of NRG Systems in Hinesburg and AllEarth Renewables in Williston.

Blittersdorf was a major donor to Governor-elect Peter Shumlin’s campaign.

Blittersdorf sued Dubie and Dubie campaign manager Corry Bliss after they made charges suggesting Blittersdorf used his relationship with Shumlin to win state tax credits for his companies.

Dubie and Bliss wrote letters in late December apologizing for the controversy. On Tuesday, Blittersdorf filed a request in court to drop his lawsuit.
