Interview: State Geologist Larry Becker On Today’s Earthquake

(Host) The U.S. Geological survey has confirmed a 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck on the Ontario-Quebec border region this afternoon a little after 1:30 p.m.  Residents in northern and central Vermont could feel the ground shaking.

The Saint Lawrence Valley is known to geologists as an area that’s prone to moderate earthquakes.

VPR’s Neal Charnoff speaks with State Geologist Larry Becker about today’s event.
