Law Students Offer Reward For Information On Rabbit Death

Some students at the Vermont Law School have raised $500 for information leading to those responsible for the death of a rabbit on campus.

Domesticated rabbits have been a fixture at the South Royalton school for at least six years, when a child at a nearby day-care center let them out of their cages. Their numbers have gone up and down in recent years, and people often put food out for them.

The Valley News reports one of the bunnies was found dead last week. Police said a veterinarian determined the rabbit had suffered from a sharp cut, not jagged as if a dog had gotten hold of it. There was no blood where the remains were found, which suggests the rabbit was killed elsewhere.

The Animal Law Society is offering the $500 reward.
