One of the leading experts in animal welfare will be in Vermont Tuesday. Dr. Temple Grandin is best known for her contributions to changing the way livestock is raised in this country. She was the subject of an HBO biopic, and has written many books of her own.

Grandin also is known for living with autism. And she chronicled that experience in "The Way I see it: A personal look at Autism and Asperger’s."

She’ll be talking about both of those topics with three appearances in Chittenden County Tuesday.

VPR’s Neal Charnoff spoke with Dr. Grandin during All Things Considered.
