Vermont authorities say they will try to collect any over-payments that may have been made to a former state trooper accused of falsifying his time sheets.

According to The Burlington Free Press, Chittenden County prosecutor T.J. Donovan has filed a lien on former Sergeant Jim Deeghan’s home, which has been put up for sale.

The lien puts the state in line to collect money if the house is sold.

Deeghan declined to comment on Tuesday.

The former state trooper resigned July 10th. He has pleaded not guilty to allegations that he falsified time reports for two pay periods in June.
