Lowell Protesters Appear In Court

Six people accused of blocking a construction road leading to a wind power project at the top of Lowell Mountain are expected in court today.

The six protesters are accused of lining the path to prevent workers and trucks from reaching the area where Green Mountain Power contractors are building the wind-energy project. The trespassing arrests happened back in December.

The protesters believe the Kingdom Community Wind project will forever scar a pristine ridgeline, without offering any significant benefit to the environment.
