Business has been good this summer in Manchester despite a major construction project.
For the past three months collections of the tax on rooms, meals and alcohol has risen.
Collections of the general sales tax have increased more than two-and-a-half percent over the same period last year. Revenues from the meals, rooms and alcohol tax is up three percent.
Town officials say that typically, the second quarter is the lowest for local option revenues.
The town’s Economic Development Officer says that the numbers are encouraging and should be a sign of more growth in the second half of the year.
This has been the first revenue report since construction began on the town’s five-million-dollar roundabout project.
A rotary is being built at an intersection known locally as "malfunction junction." The project is expected to help alleviate pedestrian and traffic issues where Routes Seven, Eleven and 30 come together.
