In Middlebury, the Select Board hopes to complete enhancements to the riverfront at the historic Marble Works district near Otter Creek falls by the end of the summer.

In February, Middlebury’s Select Board agreed to spend $70,000 from the town’s conservation fund to improve public access to the riverfront.

The project includes pathways, landscaping and a new gathering space with a small "amphitheater-like environment."

The area hosts several shows and festivals and has attracted shoppers and tourists.

The Board says bids for construction will go out once the appropriate permits are obtained.
