On Town Meeting Day and a few of Vermont’s cities are electing a new mayor. Town meeting voters in Halifax will weigh the pros and cons of big government. An item on the warning asks whether the tiny town’s select board should be expanded from three members to five. Vermont State Police will resume their search today for a man believed to have fallen through the ice on Lake Memphremagog while using a tractor to move an ice shanty. The Vermont Department of Health is testing child-care centers for radon in four Northeast Kingdom communities.
