Governor John Lynch says the federal government has approved New Hampshire’s plan to implement Medicaid managed care across the state.
The state’s current system is a fee-for-service model, which means providers are reimbursed for each service.
Under a managed care approach, the state will work with three Managed Care Organizations, responsible for coordinating all health care services for enrollees through a network of providers.
Most states have implemented some form of a managed care system.
