Dr. Bob McLellan is the Section Chief of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He says the rate of obesity has nearly doubled in the last twenty years.

Speaking on Vermont Edition, McLellan told host Jane Lindholm that in 1990 there were no states with an obesity rate of over 15% of its population. By 2009, there were no states that had fewer than 20% of its residents who were obese. And nine states had an obesity rate in excess of 30%.
