(Host) Jean Charles of Lyndonville wants to raise money to help families whose children were killed last week when a school in Haiti collapsed.
Charles is a professor at Lyndon State College who grew up in Petionville, Haiti.
That’s where a school collapsed late last week and killed at least 94 students and adults. Another 150 were severely injured.
Charles says none of his family members was hurt. But he wants to help, if he can.
(Charles) "The point is not especially that I have people in it. But the thing itself, the tragedy itself, that’s the first time something like that has happened. And it’s very sad.”
(Host) Charles says he’s been in touch with the group Doctors Without Borders.
He says he would like to organize a concert that would raise money for his homeland.
Charles is a music professor at Lyndon State, where he teaches guitar.
