PSB May Hear From Vt. Yankee Critic

A long-time critic of the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant is to testify before the state Public Service Board, if plant owner Entergy Corp. doesn’t succeed in blocking that testimony.

Raymond Shadis of the New England Coalition has been challenged repeatedly by Entergy at past Public Service Board proceedings.

Now the coalition says Shadis is hoping to testify about the environmental effects of Vermont Yankee as it seeks a state certificate of public good to operate until 2032.

Entergy got a renewed federal license for Vermont Yankee nearly two years ago, and is still seeking the state permit it also needs to continue operating the Vernon reactor.
