Vermont understandably gets the lion’s share of attention when the devastation wrought by Tropical Storm Irene is discussed. But for New York State’s North Country region, there was also extensive storm damage, and big bills left behind for repairs.

Press Republican reporter Kim Smith Dedam, who’s been writing about a recent efforts to fix some fire stations, along with other damaged homes and businesses in the Adirondacks.

VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb first asks Smith Dedam how many towns in the area suffered major damage from Irene.
