Rockwell Model Reunion In Arlington

Residents of the Arlington area who modeled for artist Norman Rockwell decades ago are getting together for a reunion this weekend.

Rockwell used more than 200 local people as models while he lived in Arlington, from 1939 to 1953.

More than a dozen of those models are meeting Saturday at the Norman Rockwell Exhibition in town, to catch up and share stories about Rockwell. His paintings and illustrations graced more than 300 covers of The Saturday Evening Post.

Mary Hall told the Bennington Banner she modeled for Rockwell as a child four times – first as a victim being saved by a boy scout from a flood, then as "Little Lord Fauntleroy."

She says Rockwell was a humble man who made his models feel relaxed.
