(Host) In Rutland, there’s still a water shortage in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene.

Rutland residents had hoped their water system would be repaired and functioning fully by last week.

But Mayor Christopher Louras has asked residents to continue conserving water.

The city water department says it is still working to restore Rutland’s system, which was badly damaged in the flood.

City officials are also urging residents affected by the storm to contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency to register for aid. That deadline is October 31st.
