Fiddle music has a long tradition in Vermont – where young players learn songs and techniques from an older generation.

This week, in partnership with the Vermont Folklife Center we’ll hear from Vermont fiddlers about how they learned to play and how the music is kept alive.

In the first part of our series, The Fiddling Tradition, we hear from Starksboro fiddler Lausanne Allen.

The Fiddling Tradition airs this week during Morning Edition on VPR.
