Severe thunderstorms, including large hail and gusts of winds exceeding 70 miles per hour, will move into the region from upstate New York.

The system is expected to arrive in the Champlain Valley area late this afternoon, and the weather service says the tornado watch will remain in effect until 8 p.m.
