Here’s the round-up of Town Meeting Day headlines from newspapers around the region:

The Times Argus reports that voters in Barre approved school budgets, budgets were approved in Waterbury, Roxbury, Middlesex, and Marshfield.

Longtime Calais town clerk Eva Morse is retiring after 48 years. She’ll be replaced by Donna Fitch who won a three way race yesterday.

From the Brattleboro Reformer, Wilmington voters approved $340,000 for a town garage. In Dover, voters declined to create a town manager. And in Readsboro, Amber Holland was elected town clerk, ousting incumbent Annette Caruso.

The Valley News reports Tunbridge voters have decided to study designating a secondary school for students. Currently, students can pick which high school to attend. But in Sharon, voters downed a resolution that would have allowed the school board to study the issue.

The Addison Independent reports that in the Addison Northwest Supervisory Union, voters have again backed a proposal to become a unified school district. The measure passed last year, but was overturned in a recall vote.

The Burlington Free Press reports Hyde Park passed a no confidence measure against the town’s three selectboard members. That vote comes after the three were accused of sexual harassment by a former town manager. That case was settled for $100,000.

School budgets passed easily in the towns of Colchester, Winooski, Burlington and Milton. The Budget also passed for Champlain Valley Union High School and Mount Mansfield Union High School.

In the Rutland Herald today, Ludlow voters decided to keep their cemetery commission, but trimmed the group’s budget. In Putney, voters proposed honorary citizenship to Academy Award winner Melissa Leo. Leo’s mother was a longtime resident of Putney.

The Bennington Banner reports, in Pownal, a candidate against a proposed biomass plant in the town won a seat on the select board. Steven Kappui defeated incumbent Harry Percey.

And the Manchester selectboard has opted to appeal to the Vermont Supreme Court a decision that tax prebate information is public information.
