(Host) Nurses and doctors from Dartmouth traveled to Haiti last year after the deadly earthquake.

Their work was chronicled by the Valley News newspaper in West Lebanon, N.H. The medical team has returned to Haiti this month and reporter Gregory Trotter and photographer Jason Johns traveled with them.

The Valley News and VPR are working together to tell the story of our region’s connections in a series called Return to Haiti.

Today, the group is in the village of Cange on Haiti’s Central Plateau. Greg Trotter explains by cell phone who they’re traveling with.

(Host) The team from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is working with Partners in Health, which is helping to reconstruct medical care in Haiti.

The doctors say now they’re less focused on treating the aftermath of the earthquake. Instead, they’re rebuilding the country’s health system.
