Vermont Edition is featuring the voices of some of the artists whose work is touring the state as part of the "Art of Action".

The project attempts to capture in art what Vermonters value about the state and how they envision the future.

An exhibit of the work is on display this month at the Vermont Folklife Center in Middlebury.

For the project, Annemie Curlin created a series of panels with hinged doors.  On the outside are aerial views of several Vermont locales.  Behind the doors are representations of some of the issues raised by people Curlin spoke with.

Curlin says the doors are a metaphor for the possibilities – and the dangers that the future may hold.

She spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about her work.
