This week, Newport senator Vince Illuzzi said he plans to introduce a bill that would call for Public Service Board members to be elected, rather than appointed.

The Public Service Board is a quasi-judicial board that supervises the rates, service, and financial management of Vermont’s public utilities.  Members are currently recommended by the Judicial Nominating Board for appointment by the governor, and they serve terms of six years.
