Vt. Immigrant Students Discuss Inequality

A group of immigrant students from Burlington High School testified at the Vermont Statehouse Thursday about what they feel is racial inequality at their school.

Some of the same students staged a protest earlier this month where they said they should not be judged on standardized test scores, which show performance gaps between immigrant students and others.

Superintendent Jeanne Collins says the immigrant students should be judged on their improvement, and not on the same scale as the students who have attended Burlington schools since kindergarten.
