Vermont signed its first power deal with Hydro-Quebec in 1985 and in the 25 years since then, the landscape of energy use and generation has changed dramatically. Mary Powell is the president and CEO of Green Mountain Power. Dick Saudek is a regulatory expert who negotiated the first Hydro-Quebec deal. They talk with VPR’s Steve Zind about what this new Memorandum of Understanding means for the state’s energy future, and the long-term relationship between Vermont and Hydro-Quebec.
