VT lawyers hail Guantanamo court decision

When the Supreme Court ruled today that Guantanamo Bay prisoners can challenge their detention in court, two lawyers in Vermont prepared to get to work. The attorneys have volunteered to represent Guantanamo detainees.

Court Records Online

Proponents of a bill at the Statehouse say that some records, particularly those related to family court proceedings, could be abused if they were available online, as opposed to paper records. We look at the public’s right to know and the individual’s right to privacy in the era of digital court records. Another U.S. court rules against auto industry

Another federal court has ruled against the auto industry in its attempt to block regulation of greenhouse gas pollution from cars. The ruling today from a U.S. District Judge in California supports a September decision by a federal judge in Vermont.
