The election for governor is year away still, but six candidates are in the race already. Republican Brian Dubie has declared his candidacy, and so have five Democrats: Sen. Susan Bartlett, Sen. Doug Racine, Sen. Peter Shumlin, former Sen. Matt Dunne and Secretary of State Deb Markowitz.  We talk with political analyst Eric Davis of Middlebury College about why there’s so much more interest in the open governor’s seat with nearly a year to go before Election Day. 

Also in the program, a Dartmouth professor has been examining the authenticity of a historic photograph of Lee Harvey Oswald. VPR’s Steve Zind talks with Professor Hany Farid, an expert in the of digital forensics, about how he determined a famous photo of Oswald is real.
