Vermont ecologist and author Amy Seidl says that while it’s
important for humans to do everything we can to minimize our impact on the
climate, at this point climate change is inevitable. Seidl joins us to talk
about her new book, Finding Higher Ground:
Adaptation In The Age Of Warming. In it, she looks at how some plants and
animals are already adapting to climate change, and she argues that humans need
to focus on their own strategies, too.
Also on the program, for
Pawlet writer Eve Schaub and her family, this is "a year of no sugar." That
means no ice cream, no apple cider, no hot chocolate, no ketchup. VPR’s Steve
Zind went grocery shopping with Schaub, who is chronicling the year of no sugar
in her blog.
