The Supreme Court of the United States will take up the question of gay
marriage later this month, prompting Vermont leaders to file friend of
the court briefs. The court also just heard oral arguments on the Voting Rights Act, which has implications for New Hampshire. Meanwhile, Vermont’s Attorney General’s office is cautioning lawmakers about the legal defense of a proposed GMO labeling law, and legal exemptions to vaccine rules for kids. We wrap of all of these legal issues facing Vermonters in a discussion with Vermont Law School professor Cheryl Hanna.

Also in the program, a review of which towns passed and defeated their school budgets, and the reasons behind those votes. Steve Dale of the Vermont School Boards Association joins us to look at the challenging budget and education tax questions that voters faced on Town Meeting Day.
