This summer, the region has come alive with the
quadricentennial celebration of explorer Samuel de Champlain’s first voyage to the lake that now bears his name.  We join in the
festivities with a special broadcast from ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science
Center on the Burlington
waterfront.  Host Jane Lindholm will talk
with David Hackett Fischer, author of the acclaimed Champlain’s Dream,
who will answer your questions about the famed explorer’s life. (Listen)

We also talk with Mary Watzin, the new dean of UVM’s
Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources.  She’s studied the lake’s health for years,
and will share her insights on how the lake has changed over the last 400
years. (Listen)

And, we hear a traditional Abenaki song performed by Marge Bruchac. (Listen)
