Eight years ago, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean’s soaring
presidential campaign reached a precipice in the Iowa caucuses. Dean’s
third place finish ushered in a series of losses in New Hampshire, South
Carolina and Wisconsin. Now a new presidential primary is underway and
longtime Dean aide Kate O’Connor has released a new book chronicling the
the 2004 campaign. We talk with Dean and O’Connor about 2004, 2012 and
the best way to vet a presidential candidate.
