Norwich has already incorporated the concept of Complete Streets and now Burlington is giving it a test run. We look at this idea of designing streets to incorporate all of its users, not just cars. Complete Streets considers the placement of sidewalks and street signs and the widening of shoulders or inclusion of bike lanes. Nationally, St. Paul, Minnesota and New Haven, Connecticut are among the communities that have adopted policies mandating this type of street design. And bills have been proposed in Vermont and in Washington legislating its use. So will we be seeing more of these roadways in the future?
