The General Election ballot in Vermont shows five candidates for
governor. Among the lesser known candidates is independent Emily Peyton
of Putney. She’s outspoken against the influence of money in politics,
supports industrial hemp as a means to address energy and environmental
issues and says creating a state bank could bolster Vermont’s economic
footing. We learn more about Payton’s platform and her motivation to run
