As health care reform legislation takes shape in Washington, the
stakeholders are jostling for position.
Among the biggest players are
hospitals, which are concerned reimbursement rates won’t cover the cost
of providing care. This month, the nation’s hospitals pledged to find
155 billion dollars in savings over the next ten years to help pay for
reform, but there are questions about how they’ll do that.
We’ll talk
with Bea Grause of the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health
Systems about what the pledge means for Vermont hospitals and about
their priorities for health care reform. We’ll also hear from Thomas
Heubner, president of the Rutland Regional Medical Center. Listen
And, VPR’s John Dillion reviews the week in the news. Listen
