The 2004 presidential candidates — particularly Howard Dean — broke
ground in the use of the Internet in organizing supporters and raising
campaign dollars. The landscape of user-generated content and the role
of the Internet has changed dramatically in four years, and the current
crop of candidates are adopting new media strategies. We talk
about the Internet’s role in the current campaigns with Garrett Graff,
author of the new book, "The First Campaign."

 

Also in the program, the science of a migraine. We talk with Dr. Robert Shapiro, a specialist at Fletcher Allen Health Care’s headache clinic, about new efforts to understand and treat migraines. And VPR’s Tim Johnson reflects on how medical TV shows take on a new meaning when the viewer is a patient.
