The granite workers of Barre were instrumental in that city’s growth – and in the labor movement of the early 20th century. Jane Lindholm visits the Barre Labor Hall and talks with Chet Briggs, president of the Barre Historical Society, and Karen Lane, director of the Aldrich Library, about that building embodies the legacy of that movement.

Also in the program: "Those CCC Boys." VPR’s Steve Delaney explores the impact of the Civilian Conservation Corps on Vermont in this special presentation. And we visit one of the projects that’s still in critical use today: the Waterbury reservoir dam.
