The Vermont-Quebec border has long had a bi-cultural quality. People cross daily for work, to shop, or to attend church. Vermont Edition delves into border life when we broadcast live from the Haskell Free Library And Opera House, which straddles the international boundary in Derby Line, Vermont, and Stanstead, Quebec.

We’ll talk with Scott Wheeler, local legislator and publisher of Northland Journal and Matt Farfan, journalist and author whose books include "The Vermont Quebec Border:  Life On The Line". Listen

We’ll also speak with John Pfeifer, the Deputy Chief of the Border Patrol’s Swanton Sector about the increased border security and the tension between some local residents and law enforcement.  Listen

Plus, a Derby town postcard on the historic Victorian building that houses the village’s library and opera house. Listen
